"The Possession" by Ernaux
This book, when you first read it, gives you a clear understanding of what the woman possess, a guy who she had loved. In the second paragraph the woman said "The first thing i did after waking up was grab his penis," this gesture, in other words, shows what she possess and shows territory she claims that no other woman have. But the woman has broken off her relationship with her lover. After doing this she soon became preoccupied and possessed by the thought of the woman who has taken her place. Not being able obtain information from the man, ex-lover, she becomes obsessed with uncovering the identity of his new lover.

This reading was very eye opening. Almost every person goes through a time like this. Eventually, with support we can overcome such heartache and become stronger people. Mistake or not we take the good with the bad and learn from it. Things that may seem as good decisions in the beginning we may second guess after time. But we must accept the challenges that lie in front of us and try our best to cope and eventually overcome them.
ReplyDeleteI found this reading interesting in that it was relatable. We have all been in a relationship gone sour and have "obsessvive" thoughts of our ex. It is difficult to go through a change without the person who helped you in the past, but life goes on.
